Getting into Oxford or Cambridge is every student’s dream. How should you increase your chances of success?
In anticipation of the new academic term, UNIKEY Academy is hosting its annual seminar on Oxbridge Admissions. There will be no registration fees and each attendee will receive a free e-book “Oxbridge Admissions Guidance”.
In general, Oxbridge courses have an entry requirement of 5*55 in DSE electives (or A*AA in A-levels). The relatively low academic requirement means that you will be competing against a high volume of candidates from all parts of the world.
In order to secure your place at Oxbridge, you must make use of your strengths outside of academic grades to show that you deserve to be considered. More importantly, the process of understanding your course and learning about basic university concepts is a long-term project. Having a comprehensive plan is the only admissions strategy.
Seminar Rundown
Strategy 1. Understand Entry Requirements
While most entry requirements for Oxbridge courses are A*AA (or 5*55 for HKDSE electives), there are ways to boost you predictions to increase the competitiveness of your application.
Strategy 2: Utilise Your Academic Experience
Academic awareness is accumulated through insights you gain outside of school. Start early to get enough exposure to your course.
Strategy 3: Get in Touch with the Industry
Decide what to study by first learning about the industry. This will help you better decide your admissions journey.
Strategy 4: Make Social Contributions
When every Oxbridge applicant applies with a competitive profile, your commitment to create significant and valuable changes to the society will help differentiate your applications from others.
Strategy 5: Start Early
An application for top universities cannot be done in months. Plan early and start early.
