Getting into Oxford or Cambridge is every student’s dream. How should you increase your chances of success?
In anticipation of the new academic term, UNIKEY Academy is hosting its annual seminar on Oxbridge Admissions. There will be no registration fees and each attendee will receive a free e-book “Oxbridge Admissions Guidance”.
In general, Oxbridge courses have an entry requirement of 5*55 in DSE electives (or A*AA in A-levels). The relatively low academic requirement means that you will be competing against a high volume of candidates from all parts of the world.
In order to secure your place at Oxbridge, you must make use of your strengths outside of academic grades to show that you deserve to be considered. More importantly, the process of understanding your course and learning about basic university concepts is a long-term project. Having a comprehensive plan is the only admissions strategy.
Seminar Rundown
1. How Oxbridge Students Stand Out
As the bar to Oxbridge admissions raises, candidates must now demonstrate more than what they have achieved academically based on exam results. Students should spend time researching and studying into current affairs or development theories applicable to your course choice. You must also train yourself to think critically and carefully analyse academic discussions in your field of interest with logical reasoning.
2. Admissions Planning
From choosing the right subjects in your curriculum to choosing the right course, students should fully prepare themselves with academic and career insights and ensure that sufficient time is spend on understanding your course.
3. Profile Enhancement
There are many ways to improve your profile before applying for Oxbridge. For instance, students may participate in internal activities, volunteering experiences, academic competitions, university courses or other internship opportunities.
4. Case Studies
We use our case studies to share how we have helped students plan for their Oxbridge applications.
